Mr. Ernest Chen

A consummate speaker with immense experience, Mr. Ernest Chen is a distinguished toastmaster and known as the Father of Toastmasters Clubs in Singapore. In 2000, He spearheaded the Speech Marathon lasting 36 hours with over 800 speakers participated. He has also conducted many workshops on public speaking and how to organize speech contests for schools teachers. He was the Chief Judge for PESA speech contests and Toastmasters International speech contests for many years.

Ernest has a Bachelor of Arts degree from University of Sydney and MBA from Andrews University. He was awarded Public Service Medal - PBM in 1993 and Public Service Star - BBM in 2004 by the President of The Republic of Singapore.

Mr. Frank Kuijsters

Frank worked for several international training and consultancy organisations (Digne Consult Europe, Hudson International, VNU Media, Intermediair Management Training). Besides his leadership roles within these companies he continued to train, coach and design management development programs for multi-cultural groups. Over the years he deliverd training, coaching and designed management development programs for a wide range of organisations in Asia and Europe.

The combination of his management experience and his genuine interest in people makes him a qualified sparring partner for organizations and their employees. He excels at developing employees in combination with business objectives. He is result driven, pragmatic, authentic and has an enthusiastic, stimulating and involving working style. Frank empowers others to reach both their personal, professional and organizational goals by using new approaches to a situation and by determining the real problem behind a problem. His key passion is to give people insight in how they can take responsibility for their own future by focusing positively on their opportunities and capabilities.

Frank has more than twenty years of experience in training, coaching, human resources and organisation development. Over the years he has trained and coached (senior) executives and professionals at all levels in profit and non-profit organisations in multiple country's in Asia and Europe. He is a business coach to both entrepreneurs and executives of entrepreneurial firms. In his previous consulting role, he worked extensively on leadership/management capability issues, designed leadership development programs and has profiled (managing) directors of different organisations. He has consulted with different international and governmental organisations in Europe, Middle East, South East Asia and Australia. Furthermore he writes articles for the trade press and has shared his knowledge in workshops at the HR Summit in Singapore, the Malaysian HR Congress and the Asia Pacific HRM Congress in Mumbai. His business background ensures all training services provided deliver a measurable and sustainable ROI.

Originally Frank graduated in 1983 in professional development, training, communication and coaching at the University of Amsterdam followed by a masters program at the University of Nijmegen in The Netherlands (1991). Over recent years he has broadened and deepened his expertise by studying Theatre pedagogics (University of Berlin in Germany), Strategies in Services (Insead France), Projectmanagement and Change management (Netherlands) Coach Passport Program (Kuala Lumpur Malaysia) and Master Practioner Neuro Linguistic Programming (Singapore). Frank is internationally certified in the Proficiency® Training.

Ms. Catherine Chan

Catherine Chan is a qualified image professional in Singapore, recognised by Association of Image Consultants International (AICI), the leading and largest professional association of image consultants worldwide.

She has the background and expertise to serve corporate as well as individuals, who want to make a positive change to present their most effective image to the world, helping them flourish in their business, career and personal lives.

She honed her skills in image and branding through her sixteen years stint in the corporate arena. Having advised corporations and high level executives in image management and branding with proven results, Catherine has intimate knowledge on how to project one's image with impact and how to create a powerful presence.

Catherine recognises that there are many individuals out there with excellent skills and talents and yet, are unable to attain their goals effectively. She is passionate and dedicated in helping clients to bridge the gap and help them to align their visual identity with their talents, skills, vision and values in life so that they can progress towards an enhanced appearance, self-assured attitude and improved performance

Mr. Jacky Lim

With several years of experience in the sales and marketing profession, Jacky is a highly valued and sought-after Life Coach and internationally certified NLP Master Practitioner and Trainer.

Mr. David Goldwich

David Goldwich was born and raised in Miami, Florida, USA. He has a BA degree in Political Science with a focus on Political Communication, Organization Theory, and Psychology. He has an MBA with a specialization in Business Management and Organization and also earned a JD degree. David practiced law in the United States for more than ten years, arguing before judges and advocating before political, governmental, and community bodies. He is also trained as a mediator. He has experience managing a small business as well, serving as CEO of BVS, Inc., an employment screening company, from 1996-98.

Recognizing that lawyers often perpetuate rather than solve problems, David began lecturing and training in 1995. He has taught at the tertiary level in the USA and in Singapore, teaching in the areas of law, management, organizational behavior, communications skills, and critical and creative thinking.

As a trainer, David applies the "80/20 Rule" to training by identifying the few critical tools necessary for the greatest improvement and presenting them in a form that is simple to learn and simple to use. The psychology of learning and NLP technology feature in all of his material to provide delegates with the visual, auditory, kinesthetic, and participatory experiences required for better, faster learning. David's ability, sense of humor, and wealth of experience enable him to deliver breakthrough changes at all levels. He has trained delegates ranging from Directors to shop floor personnel.

Ms. Guinevere Ho

Guinevere Ho is a Certified Image and Etiquette consultant. She is trained with First Impressions, a leading Image Management Consultancy that spans across Europe and Asia. Guinevere graduated top of her University cohort with a Distinction in Bachelor of Business (Business Administration) from the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology.

Prior to founding her own image consultancy firm, Guinevere had worked in the private sectors for 12 years. It has given her invaluable experience in sales & marketing, branding, customer service and business development. Having worked with numerous multinational corporate clients, she has developed strategic insights into diverse business cultures and settings. Ms. Choo Kah Ying

Formerly an academic researcher in the U.S. for eight years, Choo Kah Ying is a writer/educator/consultant and a homeschooler of her autistic son. She has graduated from University of New England, Australia with a B.A., majoring in English Literature and Antioch University, Los Angeles, California with a B.A. in Liberal Arts, with courses in Psychology.

Since her return to Singapore in August 2005, she has transformed her academic work and life experiences into writings, talks/workshops and consultations. She has covered topics in the areas of parenting, autism, special education, innovative learning strategies and mental wellness in talks and workshops for caregivers, teachers and professionals, students and the general public.

To date, her publications include three books (All Because of the Hummingbird or the Horse, Raising Sebastien: Realising Your Autistic Child’s Potential,and Five Little White Pills… and then There Were None: A Journey from Manic Depression to Recovery). Her articles on parenting, education, autism and mental wellness and parent have appeared in The Straits Times, Today and several magazines such as Today’s Parents and Shape. She has also established a forum to educate, empower and inspire people to adopt a proactive approach in the areas of parenting, education and mental wellness.  

Ms. Carina Tien

Ms Carina has 20 years of career experience in human resource management, office and administrative management, insurance sales as well as business development in numerous multi-national companies. She has worked through the rank and file and held positions of HRM Manager, Member Relations and Development - Asia Pacific, International Swaps and Derivatives Association (ISDA) and many more.

Apart from her corporate credentials, Ms Carina is an accomplished Voice Coach and has given outstanding performances in the performance arts scene. She has been a distinguished performer at The Esplanade since 2004.

Ms Carina's aspiration is to inspire and see women achieving their potentials. Being a single mother, she fully understands the challenges that today's women face; in having to balance family life and work demands. Being personally involved in two HR right sizing exercises, Ms Carina has viewed them as a brand new start of another chapter in life. With her perseverance and determination, Ms Carina established her own consultancy firm, The Voice Room, in year 2003.

Ms Carina is constantly aware that a complete balance in the body, mind and soul is essential for real happiness as well as to fulfil her goals and dreams in life. She believes that all women have such potentials to do so. Today, Ms Carina is keen to share her knowledge and experiences with all women to create a rewarding and fulfilling life!

Ms Carina was conferred a Bachelor Degree in Business Studies & Human Resource Management from UK, Diploma in Communication Studies, Advertising and Business Administration. She also holds an Advance Certificate in Training, from the Workforce Development Authority of Singapore

Mr. Rex-Marten

Rex-Marten Arno Gaidies was born in Germany and grew up in Berlin. As a very young man he started to study about theatre, starting from dancing, choreography, acting, drama, puppet play and until finally stage directing. His long time studies and in the same time working in the field itself makes him a person with high expertise in the field of culture and performing arts.

With the same opulence from the very beginning Rex-Marten Arno Gaidies cares about educating young academics.  Beside his permanent work in European theaters he started to teach in regular schools, universities and special schools subjects always involving performing art connected to the main content of the special educational institute.  With the advancement of teaching methods, he decided to enroll in specific classes for teaching at the University of Saarland in 1992.

Based on his interest in teaching, his later works involves more of developing programs which teaches children and adults to learn about their language or foreign languages while playing as well as a program for higher education to practice theoretical contents in practical role-play lessons connected to on-the-job training.

His social activities and his intercultural interests guided him very early on to his mission to connect different culture based on the development of education all over the world.  In 1998 he started to teach outside of Europe at the international platform beginning at the University of Art in Bali Indonesia, European art comprising of: dance and shadow play (puppet play), aesthetic, teaching performing art, word manipulation and improvisation.  In the same year, he also set up the International Arts Department at the same university.

This international work brought the contact to worldwide help organizations, so that Rex-Marten Arno Gaidies decided to open his own organization to help to develop education special in Indonesia.  His social engagement guided him to take part of the work of the United Nations, so that he finally was working for UNESCO the United Nation Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization.  With UNESCO he found the best platform where all his interests in his lifework are connected.  This work culminated in 2005 with his decision to work for the Republic of Vanuatu as Second Adviser of culture and education.

Since 2008 Rex-Marten Arno Gaidies has returned to Indonesia and is involved in different projects in Asia and the South pacific.

Ms. Faye M. Devlin

Faye is a native English speaker and is a Singapore PR. Since graduating from Bangalore University (India)in 1993 with a Bachelor's Degree in Science she has also obtained a Diploma in Counselling Psychology in 2007 in Singapore, leading to a Masters in Counselling Psychology. The choice of study was due to her keen interest in understanding and studying human behaviour.

Faye brings with her over 7 years of customer service experience from the aviation industry where she received from leading airlines the best training in customer service, safety and first aid. The customer service training was intense and she was awarded many certificates for outstanding service. Faye enjoyed serving customers from all over the world and strongly believes that language is not a barrier in the service industry.

She also has nearly 4 years of corporate experience with exposure to research editing, PR & media, training & development, business development and operations. One of her main achievements was developing and managing business relationships for which she provided a frame work by tailor making the CRM solution to suit the company's business, keeping in alignment with the strategic objectives & service qualityof the organization.

Her passion for working with people and for people led her to volunteer with SANA and crime library and she eventually worked for the United Nations in an International NGO where she worked closely with corporate sponsors and shelters based in Singapore, Batam and Cambodia. Being proactive, results-orientated and independent she actively sourced out sponsorship for fund raising events and raised funds over and above target. Faye is a meticulous, detail & process orientedindividual. She has strong leadership qualities with the ability to motivate others. She has proven herself by leading many successful fund raising events, membership drives, awareness programs and workshops.

Due to her excellent oral and written communication skills she was in-charge of newsletters & website content, media events and press releases for events like The Asian Banker Summit where Ex Vice President (USA) Mr. Al Gore was the Keynote Speaker. She was also a senior research editor for 3 years.

Faye loves to travel and occasionally dabbles in oil paints producing replicas of well known artists.

Ms. Merry Riana

Merry Riana is a young millionaire, successful entrepreneur, best-selling author, dynamic trainer, and popular media personality.

Dr. Allen Teh

Dr. Allen Teh has conducted extensive worldwide research on customer service as well as on customer behaviour related to business.  His latest research was on Emotional Intelligence (EQ) and how that impacts business profitability through employees'  work performance.

Dr. Balbir Singh

Balbir has a wide range of experience both in the not-for-profit and profit sectors in management and leadership roles. He has lectured for 25 years in management, communication, and has facilitated numerous life skill programs. Apart from his operations and management experiences, he is actively involved in planning, and developing of new courses for professionals in the education arena. In many ways, he is a coach, educator, facilitator, and consultant. He is sensitive to the learning needs of others, and has a warm and pleasant personality. He has conducted numerous workshops/seminars in motivation, communications, management, and teacher’s training in Singapore and around the region.

Balbir holds qualifications in liberal arts, Masters in HealthCare Management and a Doctorate degree in Education.  He is also a certified Instructor in Train the Trainer program.  Balbir is a fellow member of the Institute of Healthcare Services, UK and the Institute of Management Specialist, UK.  Balbir has worked in the Healthcare industry, Education & Training industry, and remains active in school business set-ups, program development and education consultancy work.

Dr. M. A. Wahab

For almost two decades, Wahab has acquired vast experience in the management and advancement of Human Resource Development & Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) Development. He has also developed leadership programs, Results-Based Safety program, conduct audits and counselling of individuals in diverse organisations in Asia and Middle East. And he is responsible for providing oversight and guidance for People Development both personal and in safety aspects.

Academically, Wahab has acquired PhD in Cognitive Studies and currently an associate lecturer for International Diploma in Teaching & Training (UK - since 2006). He has developed and implemented specific learning programs, policies and processes that are aligned with the required business such as overseeing the entire training process from working closely with the various departments to identifying learning gaps/needs and, evaluate, manage and enhance the effectiveness of training & development.

Mr. David I. Stevens

David is a Consultant, Instructional Designer and learning facilitator with many years of experience. He has planned, designed and developed learning materials and facilities for a variety of clients in South East Asia and customised many in-company training programs.

David came to Singapore in 1992 as an Instructional Design Consultant to the Singapore Polytechnic. Prior to coming to Singapore, David taught at both the college and university level where he also designed and developed many courses. He was a Consultant to various Alberta (Canada) government agencies and colleges in training program development and facilities planning, He also spent a number of years as the Instructional Design Consultant to the Faculty of Extension at the University of Alberta, Canada.

Among a number of successful education and training books he has written are Planning a Course: Practical Strategies Tactics and Advice for Teachers, Lecturers and Trainers and Preparing a Course: Practical Strategies Tactics and Advice for Teachers, Lecturers and Trainers.

David holds a Masters Degree in curriculum from the University of Alberta, an undergraduate degree in Vocational Education from Memorial University of Newfoundland, and a teaching certificate from McGill University. Prior to living in Canada he lived in Britain and is an Associate Member of the British Institute of Mechanical Engineers.

Currently David is involved in managing projects for the Singapore Training and Development Association (STADA) revising the Advanced Certificate in Training and Assessment and developing the new diploma programme based on the Workplace Development Agency WSQ standards, David is also a managing the instructional design team involved in the computerisation of the foundation documentation required for managing all new NITEC development projects.

Mr. Asher Eng

Asher has a Master Degree in Counselling from Monash University and graduated with a Computation Honours Degree in Bachelor of Science from University of Manchester Institute of Science & Technology. He is an approved Advance Certificate & Training Assessment (ACTA) trainer, assessor and developer which is accredited by the Workforce Development Agency. In addition, he is a certified Behavioural Consultant using the unique DISC, certificated practitioner of TJTA, associate of Emergenetics (March 2011) and certified trainer of Prepare-Enrich to help individuals and corporate to realize personal potential and asset within them. He has also a Diploma in Teaching English as a Second Language (TESOL) and is a certified coach and facilitator from Church Resource Ministries of Singapore.

For the past eleven years, he had been involved in non-profit organization which gave him to opportunity to travel to South Africa, China, Taiwan and other part of the world and provide consultation works and training in the non-profit organizations in these countries.

Currently, he is a freelance trainer and lecturer, a lay Team Pastor in Faith Community Baptist Church and a lay counsellor in Touch Community Service. He provides training and coaching to help individual to find their purpose and calling in life, and counsels individuals and couples who are sorting out their issues at any junction of their lives.

Mr. Kevin Koh

An innovative, enthusiastic and passionate English lecturer. Confident Native English speaker with experience in educating large and small groups of students at various levels, from different age groups and from all over the world. One who cares, helps and supports the success of his students. Committed and responsible for his duties. Engages and utilizes Information technology. Willing to share ideas and always desires to improve, learn, and succeed. Mr. Ho Meng Wai

Meng Wai is an approved Advance Certificate & Training Assessment (ACTA) trainer, assessor and developer which is accredited by the Workforce Development Agency. In addition, he is a certified Behavioural and Values Analyst specialising in the use of the unique DiSC and Values profiling system and its application in personal, team and work related effectiveness programmes. He also specialises in business strategic planning and management. He is a certified trainer for The Percy Institute – International Protocol in areas of Protocol, Presentation and Etiquette.

Organisations that have benefited from his trainings include the various Secondary and Primary schools, local and overseas business corporations and non-profit organisations. He was also a member of The Boys’ Brigade’s Training teams and has been involved in organising and conducting training courses for Boys’ Brigade Officers in several ASEAN countries.

Meng Wai has over fifteen years of experience in regional marketing management and business development in Indo-China, Myanmar, Baltic States, Central Asia and the Russian Federation. He has helped business organisations to establish and manage branch offices in Vietnam, Myanmar, and Thailand. He was also based in Vietnam, Thailand, Myanmar and Indonesia for several years. He has also hand held local enterprises through the strategic business planning process as well as establishing strategic plan and measurements.

He has collaborated with a Vietnamese set-up based in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam since Jan 2008 to offer consulting and training solutions to foreign companies based in Vietnam and local small and medium enterprises.

Yue Pak was the Chief Executive Officer of SGX-listed HLH Group Ltd before joining Asian LifeSkills. He is a Certified Public Accountant and has over 15 years experience holding various senior management positions in diversified groups based in Malaysia and Singapore.

His previous appointments saw him hold the following positions: Senior Corporate Controller at RGM International Pte Ltd, Singapore and Senior General Manager Control & Development, Johan Holdings Berhad, Malaysia. Whilst in Johan Holdings Berhad which is listed on the KLSE he was also Director of AIM-listed William Jacks PLC, UK; William Jacks (Australia) Pty Ltd and Skinner Engineering Pty Ltd, Australia. Yue Pak received his early training as an external auditor with Coopers & Lybrand (now PriceWaterhouse Coopers) and also as an equities research analyst with CIMB Securities Sdn Bhd where he gained useful insights into various industries that included insurance, construction, mining, manufacturing and trading. He has also tutored auditing to students preparing for the Malaysian Institute of Certified Public Accountants professional examinations as well as lectured staff of the Malaysian Auditor-General's office and Inland Revenue Board on the same subject.


Mr. Bob Mittelsdorf

Bob Mittelsdorf is a Project Management Consultant, specializing in training and staff development. With over 25 years in the management of large building projects, his background includes experience in project definition, start-up, planning, execution, monitoring and close-out on a variety of multi-million dollar developments throughout the Asian region.

Mr. Krishna Kurunakaran

Krish as he is commonly known is a Human Resource Practitioner with more than 15 years of multi-industry practice and experiences.

He has held a broad range of human resource management and development positions in the Oil & Gas, Aviation & Travel, Telecommunication, Manufacturing, and HRD Consulting industries. He has been involved in HRD/HRM and OD activities over the last 15 years in various capacities. In his tenure with these companies, he has held key responsibilities for employee professional development, selection, recruitment, coaching and mentoring, organization transformation and change management. Krish has worked for several well known MNCs including Sun Microsystems, BP, Motorola (including Motorola University), AT&T, PA Consulting, SIA and SATS.

Krish is a Certified Organizational Development practitioner by Organizational Development International (ODi) and was involved in several regional OD roll outs specifically in SUN Microsystems, BP and Motorola. He has helped managed interventions to support business growth and transformation. These include  building world class leadership, creating a great place to work, recruitment, retention and development of a more diverse employee base, mindset change, ‘stretching them programs to build supportive behaviors,’ assimilation needs programs and rewards program using high touch strategy.

Ms. Patricia Ang


Patricia has for the last 12 years extensive experience in corporate communications, event management and alumni relations. She has worked in Nanyang Technological University as Director of External Programs, National University of Singapore as Marketing Communications Manager, Raffles Girls' Secondary as Corporate Communications Manager, St Joseph's Institution as Alumni & Public Affairs Manager and Nanyang Technological University Alumni as Event Organiser.

Her passion lies in writing. She has written for newsletters, feature writings, interviews, corporate brochures, banners, website contents, yearbooks, annual reports and press releases. A writer who writes from the heart, her articles have been inspiring and well-received.

As an event organiser, she has experience in organising high profile events which involved ministers, alumni and senior management of organisations.

For Corporate Communications, Patricia has handled a full range of corporate communications responsibilities which include corporate branding, media relations and stakeholder relationship. She has developed communication strategies across all platforms and communications channels such as marketing collaterals, advertising, sponsorship, PR events and established collaborative partnerships with the various stakeholders.

Patricia graduated with Masters in Mass Communication in NTU in 2007. Mr. Eric Lee Cheng Hai

Eric Lee is an entrepreneur and has been managing his own business and enterprises since 1990. During the initial years of his business development, he has established factory and offices around Asia related to engineering design service and industrial equipment.

Eric was the council member of the 16th Term Executive Council 2001/2002 in The Association of the Small and Medium Enterprises (ASME).

He was also the Vice –Chairman/Technology of the Automation Technology Industrial Group 2002/2003 in Singapore Manufacturers’ Federation (SMaF).

His network and business exposure in Philippines, Thailand and Malaysia has benefitted many associates exploring into these countries.

Ms. Gloria Wong

Infant Massage Consultant

Gloria Wong is a mother of one and she loves working with children. Gloria, having been trained in Australia and U.K for the Massage In Schools Program (MISP), is the only MISP trainer in South East Asia. She conducts MISP training courses to adults as well as children.

She is also a certified Infant Massage Instructor and an Aromatherapist. She has conducted many workshops and talks on the benefits of massage for children, some of which include:

Mr. William Laws

William Laws is British by birth and a Singapore Permanent Resident. 

Over the past 25 years, William has held senior international positions in several of the world’s major Public Relations Consultancies (Burson Marsteller; Fleishman Hillard; Manning, Selvage & Lee) in which he has counseled many leading global corporations.  Most recently he headed the global Corporate Communications function of Tata Technologies.  He has also founded and managed his own businesses, giving him profound insights into the different challenges faced by both small firms and large corporations.

His expertise in Public Relations and Corporate Communications covers all aspects of the communications process, from strategic planning to brand building to events and sponsorships. His practice specializations include media training and crisis communications.  As a media trainer he has prepared C Level executives from such blue chips as Apple, Nissan, GM, BT-Infonet, Disney and Tata – as well as Ministers of the Government of Sri Lanka - to handle challenging and sometimes hostile media interviews.

As a Crisis Communications specialist, William notably handled the communications fall-out of the 9/11 attacks for United Airlines in Beijing, and contributed to the crisis management process following the terrorist attack on the Taj Hotel, Mumbai.  He has also written complete Crisis Preparedness and Management Manuals for several leading global firms.

Mr. Wong Peng Wai

Wong Peng Wai is a management consultant and has more than 18 years of consulting experience in strategic planning, change management, risk management and information technology.

Working with multinational companies in the Far East, Peng Wai has designed and implemented many solutions from banking applications to human resource development.

Some of his major consulting projects include:

  • Designing a treasury system for a Singapore car distributor to manage foreign currency exposure and the hedging of vehicles and duty payable.
  • Conducted a strategic consulting assignment on foreign exchange reconciliation for a multinational bank in Tokyo. The assignment included the designing of an automated solution to reduce discrepancies in the reconciliation process.
  • Consulted, designed and implemented a strategic network system for an Indonesian bank to send information on foreign exchange deals between its 23 branches and the head office.
  • Implemented an integrated front-office trading system for a multinational Swiss bank to support money market, foreign exchange, securities, swaps and options trading and risk management.

Peng Wai is the first person in Asia to be certified by Buzan Centres (UK) to teach Mind Mapping. As a corporate trainer, Peng Wai has conducted more than 1,500 workshops on mind mapping, whole-brain thinking, systems thinking and systematic innovation in Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia, Hong Kong and Japan.
